A Little About Bernadette Walsh
I am a New Yorker who, when I'm not busy practicing law, enjoys writing novels. While I've hopped around genres, all of my books have a common theme: strong women handling what life throws at them the best way they can.
What Does it Mean to be Fearless?
In my day-to-day life I am a rule follower -- a color within the lines kinda girl. However, I decided that if I was going to follow this crazy writing path, I would always write what was true to me -- that I would "go there" no matter what. That I would always be fearless.
"Somehow, Bernadette Walsh always seems to rip my heart out. Yet, I always come back for more. Johnny Be Good is no exception."
"There are not many books that I read twice. This was one of them. Drama. For all of us who have had complicated relationships with our mothers, absentee fathers, or less than satisfactory marriages; for all of us that feel bitter and resentful about life this book helps delve into these issues. And come to some resolutions that a good book can lead you."
"The Girls on Rose Hill is a beautifully written story about the complicated relationship between three generations of women. It will touch you, make you laugh, and make you cry. Bernadette Walsh's subtle use of language, traditions, and manners painted an authentic portrait of an Irish Catholic family. I loved it."
"There are times when you want to read a book with characters that you will laugh with, characters that you will hug when they are crying, and characters that deserve your long sigh and eye roll. Author Bernadette Walsh is a master at blending all these emotions into unforgettable stories. I highly recommend her latest book, A Safe Distance."
"Bingo! Bernadette Walsh does it again! Another beautiful read with characters so real you would love to sit and have tea with them. A crazy plot twist at the end had me wanting LOTS more. Can't wait to see what happens to Fiona and her family."
"I jumped at the chance to review Gold Coast Wives. I was not disappointed. In this novel, she depicts reality shows so, well, realistically that it left me laughing out loud. All the behind-the-scenes plotting, scheming, and planning was just as I've always thought reality shows would be. I think there's a bit of Kate in all of us."
